OK - so today we went back to Disneyland for a second time - just to get to see the attractions we didn't get around to seeing on Wednesday. By now we were feeling really "Disney'ed" and were getting a little tired of all the walking and constant outdoor Disneyfied music you hear everywhere you go. I was beginning to hear Disney music on my brain at all times - even at night when trying to sleep. So - we decided to spend the afternoon practising some retail therapy!

The first challenge was to find out where our nearest shopping mall was. We found out that the nearest covered mall is one called "Main Place" in Santa Ana - which is an LA suburb a few miles south of Anaheim. We set off by car - and it took a while to get there due to traffic jams in Santa Ana.

This was our first foray off the beaten tourist track- and, after the charm and happy-smiley atmosphere of Disney, downtown Santa Ana felt a lot more like "street" LA. The city has a very large Spanish-speaking community - and Santa Ana is dominated by American-Mexican-Indian people.
