After spending the day at the Joshua Tree national Park desert we headed back to our Palm Springs hotel via the West entrance station of the desert - through the small town of Joshua Tree and South on the California Route 62 Twentynine Palms Highway.

Then we joined a road called Indian Avenue - which took us directly into the heart of Palm Springs. Along the way - just outside the town itself - we came across an amazing forest of "windmills". This is a massive wind farm! It was really spooky driving through this desert as the blades of these massive windmills sliently turned in the desert breeze. It was like something out of the X-files!

After resting at our hotel for a couple of hours we stepped outside into the famous Palm Canyon Drive to join thousands of other folks who descend into here from all over the Valley every Thursday evening for what is known as the Palm Springs Village Fest. Palm Springs has been the desert playground for many rich and famous celebrities over the years - and Sonny Bono (whoever he is) created the Village Fest - which is an evening street market on Palm Canyon Drive in downtown Palm Springs. It was a very warm pleasant evening strolling through this - a nice end to the day.
